The Generations Award, presented annually by the National Institutes for Historically-Underserved Students, recognizes multiple generations of the same family for their brave and selfless commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion for all people.  Prior winners include the family of The Honorable Constance Slaughter-Harvey, Esquire, a renowned attorney, voting rights advocate, and icon of the Civil Rights Movement recently named one of USA Today’s Inspiring Women in History; the family of Dr. Lionel Bordeaux, President of Sinte Gleska University, an inaugural member of the National Native American Hall of Fame and the longest-serving university president in America; and the family of Anna Maria Pacheco, the matriarch of a prominent Colorado family who is an intergenerational advocate for educational attainment, both for her family and for her community.  This year, the Donato-Sapp family will join this prestigious group, and well deserved.”
