CURRICULUM

The One Survivor Remembers curriculum kit that Jeff developed for us has received universal praise and acclaim.  It has been requested and distributed to over 118,000 educators (translating into over 11 million students who have used these materials).  His curriculum has been sent to teachers in all 50 states as well as to educators throughout the world.  We are proud that his materials continue to be utilized by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the United Nations, as well as numerous international Holocaust Museums, State Commissions, universities and organizations.  The success of the teaching kit is a reflection of Jeff’s tremendous creativity, knowledge and experience.  His insights and commitment to sharing the story of Gerda and Kurt Klein with the next generation are a gift to children around the world.

Jeff is a truly gifted curriculum writer and storyteller.  This unique combination of skills can make all the difference for a classroom teacher looking for just the right way to convey hard truths about inequities and social injustice.  One of Jeff’s projects, the teacher’s guide for Oscar-winning Mighty Times:  The Children’s March, continues to spark hope in the hearts of educators across the country.  Jeff’s writing literally brings history to life.

Jeff is one of those gifted educators who can design learning experiences that deeply connect the subject matter at hand with the inner world of the student.  At The Museum of Tolerance we have made sure that every teacher who comes here for anti-bias education training leaves with at least one of his resources and certainly a link to his web site.  While there are many prominent anti-bias activists and many talented educators, it is a rare occurrence to have the two areas of expertise so ably demonstrated in one person.
